In high school, running was the necessary evil of soccer practice. But years later, inspired by my dad and a group of friends signing up for the Tar Heel 10-Miler, I decided to give running another shot. With shin splints, a solid training plan, and a newfound appreciation for small victories, I’m pushing toward 10 miles—proving to myself that the girl who once despised running might just be a runner after all.
